Richard Berthao

Colonel Richard Berthao is a 30+ year Cyber security professional and military officer. He currently serves as the Senior Army National Guard Advisor to United States Cyber Command in Fort Meade, Maryland. His experiences as a citizen-soldier blend hands-on technical assignments and supervisory positions in the Information Technology and Cyber fields, with leadership roles in multiple military and civilian organizations. He was among the very first officers in the Army National Guard to be accepted into the new Army Cyberspace Operations career field. Richard was also the initial developer and Exercise Director for the nationally recognized Cyber Yankee Exercise which is conducted annually among New England National Guard states, government, and private sector partners. Colonel Berthao is a member of the Massachusetts National Guard and is also President of the Boston Chapter of the Military Cyber Professional’s Association. He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology, Information Assurance and Security Concentration.
