Dr. Despain has published approximately 70 articles.

Dr. Despain has been teaching for 19 years and taught at a number of universities before coming to Nichols, including Saint Joseph University in China and the University of Oslo in Norway.

His research interests include Political Economy; Institutional Economic Theory; History of Economic Thought; and the Philosophy of Critical Realism.
